La Pán Tẩn

Mu Cang Chai is moutainous district with hills surround and all hills are used for planting rice, now the only capital of Viet Nam terrace field. It is about 150km away from Sapa and 300km from Hanoi. The place is home to the Hmong and Thai community.

There are three rural communes namely La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and Ze Xu Phinh. Their terraced paddy fields are recognized by Viet Nam Government as a National Monument.
